Anthony Campbell
Schreiner, Kerrville, TX
2023-03-04
We had an exciting finish at Scott Schreiner. There was a three way tie between John Tirey, Corky Diaz DeLeon, and Anthony Campbell with net 73 scores. It only took one hole to determine our Champion. They headed back out to #9 a short dogleg left par 4 that plays 343 from the back tees and 335 from one up. There is a fairway bunker on the right and a line of trees on the left that protect an elevated small cigar shaped green that runs left to right. Anthony was the only player to find the fairway. Both Corky and John were either dealing with the trees and the elevated green on the left. Anthony did hit the green in two, but was a good 15 to 20 feet away. Both John, and Corky struggled a bit to hit the green, but John did have a testy ten footer to save par. Anthony took his best shot at rolling in his birdie putt, but finish just outside the hole. It wasn’t as close to the hole as Kurt Kitayama’s on the final hole at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill on Sunday but it was close. John tried to make his par put but rolled it past the hole. Anthony’s par putt was conceded and he was declared the Champion. Well done Fellas!.

Ram Longoria
Comanche Trace
2023-02-18
Our current Travelers Cup Tour Champion Ram Longoria showed that he is still a force to be reckoned with at Comanche Trace. Ram shot a net 73 score to nudge out our 2018 Champion Victor Darnold by one stroke. John Tirey finished in the third spot with a net 75 score. If it wasn't for a slight miss que on 13 John might have won outright. We did have one Eagle scored on the par 5 hole # 9. You will have to ask Raul Medellin about that one the next time you see him.
